Grass carp
The grass carp belongs to the family of carp species. It does not occur naturally in the Benelux, but has been released into various waters to eat aquatic plants.
The grass carp is thus a real gardener and takes care of keeping up the bottom and grass edges in our ponds.
As a sport fish, its elongated and slender stature makes the grass carp a real rocket in the water.
Once the grass carp is on the line, it is therefore a lot more difficult for an angler to get it to the side compared to a normal carp of the same weight.
The best way to catch them is with sweet bait, such as our own sweet pellets or, for example, sweet wafters, an exception to this are garlic wafters, although these are not sweet, they work extremely well on grass carp.
